Piranha Knife in Action

The Piranha is a small belt and/or neck knife designed and produced E. Scott McGhee. You can call it an everyday carry, but we prefer the term "everyday survival knife." Here's a video explaining some of the neat things this little blade can do to enhance your daily existence.

Blade Show 2015

We're less than a week away from Blade Show 2015, and all of Scott's hand-forged blades are now ready to go. Thirteen total - 12 knives and a hatchet - plus several waterjet Piranhas with scales. Hope to see you at the show in Atlanta - Table 13P!

Above is The Tusk - 8 1/2 inches of Damascus blade with an African Blackwood handle and 416 stainless guard. Below are two Cottonmouth Blackouts with green Micarta handles - one with a single guard and the other with a double guard.

A third Cottonmouth with African Blackwood handle can be seen just above Tusk in the picture below. The Tusk, this Cottonmouth Blackout, and two EZ Rider Blackouts like the one below Tusk will all be available at the show.

Several knives will be delivered to clients at Blade Show 2015 - including a Mini-Trekker belt hatchet with Damascus head and curly maple handle . . .

. . . a Chief with hamon and African Rosewood handle . . .

. . . a Mamba Blackout with African Rosewood handle . . .

. . . and another Mamba in African Rosewood with a hamon.

Hamons can be tricky to photograph, so here's another view of the one on the Mamba.

Scott also completed two Twist Damascus knives for delivery to Blade Show 2015 - a Zulu and a Merlin, both dressed in African Blackwood . . .

. . . and one Bushman with scalloped Micarta handle.

Lastly, Scott turned out several stainless steel Piranhas with G-10 scales . . .

. . . one of which we will be raffling off at the show. Tickets are $2 each or $5 for three.

Hope to see you there - Table 13P.

Two Cottonmouth Blackouts

Both dressed in Green Micarta. One with a double guard and one with a single guard plus spacer.

One Mamba in Wenge (aka African Rosewood)

Several Piranhas with scales

More knife pictures to come.

Pele - A Damascus Hunter

Pele was supposed to be Scott's new carry knife, but (as oft happens) he decided she was simply too beautiful to keep. This hunter, named for the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire, is based on our popular Zulu model. Pele is a little more pointy and delicate than a Zulu, the clip comes back a tad further, and the spine is thinner.

Pele
Steel: 1095/15n20 Damascus
Overall Length: 9 7/8 inches
Blade Length: 4 3/4 inches
Guard: 416 stainless w/spacers
Handle: Stabilized Curly Koa
Sheath: Leather Drop

Pele has a 416 stainless guard with G-10 and stainless steel spacers.

All of Scott's guards are press fit.

The stabilized curly Koa handle material is edemic to Hawaii and . . .

. . . the pattern in the Damascus is reminiscent of a lava flow.

Rover in Obsidian Twist Damascus - New Knife Design, New Finish

Scott forged this new full-tang design out of twist Damascus, and then gave it a wicked black finish were calling "Obsidian". The Rover is a bush-craft knife, so it got a special sheath that incorporates a Light-My-Fire ferro rod and multiple tie down points. See what you think.

Rover
Steel: Obsidian Twist Damascus 1095/15n20
Overall Length: 10.75 inches
Blade Length: 5.5 inches
Handle: Maroon Micarta
Sheath: Leather Bush-craft

Scott tapered the tang and bull-nosed the scales.

Scott also integrated a fire-striker into the butt of the knife that works well with the ferro rod.
